Hasselblad Stellar

Hasselblad Stellar

The Hasselblad Stellar,  was not intended to be judged against other cameras, it was conceived and crafted exclusively for Aficionados, Collectors and Connoisseurs.  It blends eye-catching beauty with exceptional performance and comes with the latest tech innovations.   The unavoidable question is it worth paying $2000 for a discontinued camera which is the Sony RX100. The RX100 II is newer and has improvements on paper but out of these there’s very little that will show up in every photo that you take. So if you’re looking for a unique look in a good pocket camera like a RX100/RX100 II, the Stellar will get you that, if you can afford it.

I did buy one but at $450 for this fancy Blad point and shoot.   I could not let it pass at this price point and it is a beautiful  camera.  Since the early 80’s I shot with a Hasselblad 500C kit  until I went digital. This version of the RX100 by Sony is an eye-catcher wherever it goes, especially among those who know the Hasselblad name.

I realized what I was buying, but at the greatly reduced list price, it was just too tempting.  It works well and looks amazing, I’m happy with my purchase. But my happiness is mainly from within….at last I own a Hasselblad camera again since I didn’t want to sell my Mercedes to purchase a Hasselblad H6D-400c MS at only $47,000.

After shooting with it for a month it  kind of grew on me.  My grab and go kit was my Sony A6300 but I found out this little camera could almost do the same things my A6300 could do only smaller so I started researching the RX100   IV.

So I did ended up purchasing the Sony RX100  IV and it  is my in the pocket every day camera and the Blad is my dress up  fancy pimp camera.  Kind of like a Rolex.  I have a friend that always wanted a Red Dot camera, so when Panasonic  came out with the Leica point and shoot he bought one and stopped shooting with his Nikon.  Well this Blad is the same for me, but I know it’s limits and still shoot with my real cameras when I am serious.
